Title of the work: Mapping of Financial Institutions and Livelihood related Institutions and Programs

Duration: October, 2014 – July, 2015

 

Brief summary of the assignment: Conducted mapping in the selected districts (23), sub-metropolitans (3) and municipalities (4) for Adolescent Development and Participation (ADAP) Section, UNICEF Nepal, Pulchowk, Lalitpur. The survey was carried out to identify the institutions that provide appropriate for and accessible financial and livelihood services to youth and adolescents.

 

Client: Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), Kamaladi, Kathmandu

Title of the work: Measurement of Quality of Services (QoS) of Telecommunication Service in Pokhara

Duration: March, 2015 – June, 2015

 

Brief summary of the assignment: MAXTECH conducted the job of performing the field survey of limited mobility Wireless Local Loop (WLL) and mobile services based on Global System for Mobile (GSM) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) in Pokhara for Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA). MAXTECH conducted the survey and presented the findings with recommendation to NTA to take further action towards improving the Quality of Service (QoS). Android application was developed and installed in the mobile phones for field researchers. The application was used for household interview for the assessment of perceived quality through survey.

 

Client: Mercy Corps Nepal, Sanepa, Lalitpur

Title of the work: Client Survey for Protecting and Mainstreaming Informal Sector Safety Nets (PROMISE) as well as Baseline and Client Survey for SAFAL program implemented by Mercy Corps

Duration: July, 2014 - November, 2014

 

Brief summary of the assignment: Surveys included design of survey tools, data collection, data analysis and reporting. Surveys were conducted using quantitative as well as qualitative methods.  Quantitative data analysis was done using SPSS. Measurements of demographic and socio-economic indicators including Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) were captured during the survey.

 

Client: Rural Finance Sector Development Cluster Program/Asian Development Bank

Title of the work: Technical Support for Procurement and Installation of ICT equipment and relevant hardware

Duration: June, 2010 – July, 2014

 

Brief summary of the assignment: Technical expertise service provided for the pre delivery inspection of ICT equipment and relevant hardware for eight area offices located in various parts of Nepal as well as head office of Sana Kisan Bikas Bank Ltd. (SKBBL) under this project implemented by Rural Finance Sector Development Cluster Program/Asian Development Bank. MAXTECH inspected the procurement and installation of ICT equipment and relevant hardware. The project included the inspection in the head office as well as eight area offices of SKBBL: Birtamod, Itahari, Janakpur, Hetauda, Gajuri, Butawal, Pokhara and Nepalgunj.

Similarly, technical support provided to Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT), Kathmandu for preparing procurement documents and plan including ToRs and evaluation criteria for hiring national consultants as well as specification and estimate of ICT equipment and MIS under the same program.

Title of the work: Designing Financial Literacy Training Curriculum, Manual and Materials

Duration: March, 2013 – August, 2013

 

Brief summary of the assignment: Developed training curriculum, community training manual and designed participants’ book regarding Financial Literacy; designed for Protecting and Mainstreaming Informal Sector Safety Nets (PROMISE) programme implemented by Mercy Corps Nepal. MAXTECH also delivered trainings (ToT) for community trainers.

Title of the work: Impact Assessment of Public ICT Access Centers (58 ICT AC in 26 districts of Nepal)

Duration: June, 2011 – December, 2011

 

Brief summary of the assignment: MAXTECH Study and Services Pvt. Ltd. assessed the status and impact of Public ICT Access Centers in the community, evaluated the success/failures of the models and identified issues/challenges in their operation/ sustainability for Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA). Primary data were collected through observations, inspections, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), including case studies, interactions/interviews with centers' operators, members of management committees and users. Similarly, secondary data were collected through project documents, progress reports, other relevant documents and discussions with partner organizations of NTA.

 

Client: Enhancing Access to Financial Services (EAFS) Project, Kathmandu

Title of the work: Financial Analysis and Strategic Planning Training for Partner MFIs Duration: September, 2012

 

Brief summary of the assignment: MAXTECH provided training to Partner MFIs on Managing Microfinance: Financial Analysis and Strategic Planning for EAFS Project - UNDP/ UNCDF (United Nations Capital Development Fund). The training imparted skills and knowledge on basic concepts of microfinance, good practices of microfinance, analysis of financial statement of MFIs (Microfinance Institutions), calculation of various ratios for measuring the performance, calculation of sustainability, productivity and efficiency of MFIs, introduction to social performance management for MFI and formulation of strategic planning.
